What's new for 2023?
The Chevrolet Equinox for last year was so well done, Chevrolet wisely made only modest changes, including a small increase in the 1.5-liter turbo engine, bringing it up to 175 horsepower. Torque remains at the same level: 203 pound-feet. Three of the eight available paint colors are new this year and so is the change from a conventional vacuum-boosted brake system to an electronically-supported system that Chevrolet calls E-boost.
Trim levels in the new Chevrolet Equinox
For 2023, Chevrolet gives buyers in Mobile, AL a choice of four trims:
The base LS trim comes with a 7-inch infotainment screen that includes wireless smartphone connectivity for Apple and Android along with four USB ports and push-button start. The little luxuries of air conditioning, cruise control and power windows are also included. Move up to the Chevrolet Equinox LT and you get an overhead console and seat release levers in the cargo area. Available options include heated front seats and a power liftgate.
The Chevrolet Equinox RS Trim gives you a sporty appearance package plus front and rear parking sensors and a power liftgate. In the new Chevrolet Equinox Premium model you get 18-inch machine-faced wheels, an 8-inch infotainment display and standard safety features like blind-spot monitoring.
